About Us
Since 1996, The Norton has been Highgrove's living room. What started as one supervisor's promise to his hometown has grown into a place where neighbors of every age come for a hot meal, a helping hand, or just a familiar face. We're proudly stewarded today by Family Service Association, but the heart of this place has never changed.
Vision
A Highgrove where every family has what it needs to thrive, not just get by. Where kids grow up with role models, seniors are never isolated, and no one has to choose between rent and groceries. That's the neighborhood we're building, one program at a time.
Mission
We tackle poverty, hunger, and health gaps at every stage of life, from a toddler's first steps to a senior's golden years. Through inclusive programs and real resources, we lift up Highgrove families and carry forward Norton Younglove's legacy, building a better tomorrow together.
Meet our Team
The people who make The Norton feel like home.
Danielle Angell
Office Assistant II
The friendly face behind the front desk and the quiet magic behind the scenes. Need a warm welcome, a quick answer, or someone who actually remembers your name? That's Danielle.
Leila Santamaria
Center Manager
Leila leads The Norton with heart. She makes sure every program, from food distribution to Seniors' Day, actually reaches the corner of Highgrove it's meant for. Her push for inclusion and her eye for what's next are a big reason this place feels like home to so many people.
Be Part of the Story
However you show up, volunteering an afternoon, dropping off a donation, or just spreading the word, you become part of The Norton's story. And honestly, we could use you.
The Story behind our Logo
From House to Center
This is the place where a child finds their confidence, a neighbor becomes a friend, and a family discovers they're never alone. Our doors are always open, the benches always ready, and the mountains behind us a daily reminder: we were built to endure, and we were built for you.
From River to Family
Three figures. One story. Yours. The Santa Ana River has flowed through this land for centuries, carving paths, crossing boundaries, connecting everything it touches. So do we. Come as you are. Leave knowing someone stood beside you. At Norton Younglove, no one walks their journey alone.
Every piece of our logo means something. Here's the story behind it, one image at a time.
From Logo to Legacy
More than a name. More than a symbol. The Norton Younglove Community Center is a promise to Highgrove, to every family that walks through our doors, and to every generation still to come. Each version of our identity tells the same truth: when families are strong, communities are unstoppable. This is who we are. This is where you belong.
From Tree to Heritage
Before the streets, before the buildings, there were the groves. Highgrove was built on orange-stained hands, sunrise harvests, and the quiet pride of people who planted something lasting. We carry that legacy forward. Every program we offer, every family we serve, is another fruit on that tree: rooted deep, growing tall, and freely given.
